Quilt Top Finished

Worked late last night and finished this quilt top. I won’t be getting it finished for our trip, I’ll keep working on it.

I’ve started the packing process, everything in Florida is being painted and cleaned. We’ll just have to move furniture in and then I get to decorate! !

I’m ready, the waiting have been long, but we made it and here we go.

The Quilt Ladies are moving forward, have all the final files to printer. Dream to Realty, it’s hard for me to wrap my brain around it, I just keep moving, sometimes forward and sometimes back, just keep moving.

Just had to Say

Its Funny to hear this:

"Sleeping in Style: Textiles from the Bedroom"
Minneapolis Institute of Arts,
now thru May 31st.
I think they are talking about quilts and blankets.

Over the years, quilts have become an Art form, and I personally have to say, it’s about time. As a child I remember getting to choose which quilt to sleep under at a Great-Aunt’s home, to sleep with Sun Bonnet Sue, an Irish chain or even a wedding ring. The cool cotton, the warmth after only moments under it. I was
"Sleeping in Style" and didn’t even know it.

Check out the Minneapolis Institute of Arts at http://www.artsmia.org/
From the May 2009 issue of Romantic Homes, yes I LOVE this magazine and some day,
I'll have an old romantic home again.

A Great Week

New Quilt, New Lego Set,

Being 6 is wonderful and Grand One, had a great birthday, and Grandma and Grandpa had a great time spoiling everyone.

Grand One loves hearing all the details and he never forget what you said the year before, from how hot the room was, to Mommy and Daddy saying, "I can't believe they are letting us take him home."

And here's the sneak preview of the first Quilt Ladies Book. Being with the printer for two and a half hours yesterday and we have ONE copy. I can't stop smiling ! ! ! It's
coming true.

On to Another

As with everything, I’ve changed
my mind.
I starting working on Husband’s fish quilt, at the same time I pulled out fabric for a Me quilt…. for the cool evenings in Florida, under the ceiling fan. Well, the fish quilt is on the shelf and I’m going nuts with ME. Simple center and I’ve chosen a crazy strip for the outside.

We are off for our Easter trip and Grand One’s 6th birthday.
Daughter-n-law #2 has asked me to help her with the quilt instructions on this blog. http://thequiltladies.blogspot.com/2009/03/how-to-start-quilting-1.html
The YES, came out really fast. I’ll take pic’s and share the fun.

I'm learning

Over the past months, I’ve moved into the area of the Printer’s work. A world where the word "Staple" is forbidden, and the word saddle stitch is used?? It’s not sewn it has staples! ! !

I have not found a printer that I want to spend any time with. I sent out 2 more requests for information (pricing) today. Please let there be someone out there, who just wants to make a fair profit, talk to me as a human, (I may be dumb, but I’m not stupid) and let the books look the way I want them to look.

This was not to be the hard part, Ahhhhhh………

O.K. I’m taking a deep breath and going to try again,

Thank you, I needed that moment,

I’m sew happy to be printing,(hopefully soon) it will make it all that sweeter when it happens……Oh Please Soon.....

Fish Quilt

Starting a New Quilt

I’m working away on Husbands fish quilt, each block is 20" x 20" I'm using cut squares of
2 1/2" by 2 1/2" There may be a sashing around each block
I think they may need that

Looking through my stash closet I pulled out a fabric I’ve had for years and years. I think the next thing will be something for me, hand quilted. Just pulling fabrics.
