Off the Market,

We’ve taken your house here off the market and I took some time and unpacked my sewing room.

"You know the property will sale better with no clutter". As I told the Realtor, "the clutter is gone, BUT don’t open the closet and if you do, duck……….the fabric will get You !"

I hung different pieces up and have to say, "I like them". You’ll see more of them, I’ve been working on a pattern series, "Little Quilt Ladies".

Ideas and more Ideas

Received the first proof set of the
books from the printer
(yes, yes, yes !)

I'm going to have to rearrange pages, moving the color to the center.
It's not hard, but just a bit of time.

Our boys are going to be together this weekend, in sunny Florida. I'm here with a husband who works retail. Hard weekend for me,
can't seem to explain it, but just hard.

Well, anyway I have book time,

Have a Great Holiday,

Back to the Quilt Books

Yes, I get close and then the 10 steps back.

I'm in sticker shock ! ! The printing numbers are HUGE, I'll have to regroup and get it together. I think the best is to pull the patterns out and do them as a center insert??

Any one have an idea??? I'd love to hear it.

Grandma's (ME) is tired of everything being so hard, and I'm ready to sell books. Oh, Yes, I DON'T have them printed !

Or trying to be, - Don't they look great !

Quilt Books

I held the covers in my hands, had to stop talking and breathe. They are fantastic. Printer is still not pleased with color tones?? My GREAT designer, Rita, is doing her magic, I owe her a huge gift certificate. Check out her site, we love the crock-pot lasagna http://www.creativelydomestic.com/

Here's cover 7, it will be a bit before they are done, I'll keep you posted. I have to embrace everything and let it happen, my dream to reality.

I think I've got it !

The printer has the books and I'm awaiting proof copies of the 12 books. They are going to be fantastic. Thank you, my designer, they are wonderful.

I've not stopped smiling about them. Here's another cover and I'll keep you up to date as things move forward. Hope to have the proofs in the next couple of weeks. Everything finished by the end of June.
Now the marketing starts, after all this time, I have to sell them. (I have too, there's this little place in Florida, I'd love to move to full-time). I figure if I can blog, build a website, I CAN market.
Have a great weekend,

Back Home

We are back to life in Nebraska,
I'm missing Florida and Grand #3. We had a wonderful week
and a week of dreams coming true.
Still a bit overwhelmed and we can't really believe everything happened.

Trying hard to just let things happen and except what comes.
Very hard for this list maker.
Just want to share this photo. Grand #3
playing on Mom and Dad's bed.

Find the toes?

On the plane down I started a book a girl friend recommended, "A Walk on the Beach" by Joan Anderson. Didn't have much reading time in Florida, but finished it on the plane ride home.
Have to say I loved it and have ordered her next book,
"A Weekend to Change your Life"
here's her website,
Have a meeting with the printer tomorrow, only had a couple
of changes with Book 1 moving on to the rest.

Work Hard, Play Hard

Played Hard....

I really didn't understand this until I was in my 40's. And now in my 50's it's all come full circle. The play hard is wonderful. It's not the kind of play you think of as a child, it's the play hard as in, do what you really want to do.

I love down south. I think in a life before, I had to be southern. I love the houses, I love the culture, I love old things. I LOVE THE WARMTH.

I'm heading back home and Quilt Ladies are ready to go to the Printer and I'm ready to get things started.

Time for a Little Play

WONDERFUL

Not everything is finished and I know it will take a few more time down to do that.

An afternoon at the beach is
ALWAYS a joy.
To walk and relax,
Holmes Beach.

A late afternoon of golf, nothing but

Have a wonderful week and

Arrived

We've arrived in Sunny Florida, in Nebraska we are still in sweatshirts, not here. Sun and more sun, I've not been warm since
our last visit in March !

We still get a kick out of not using a ramp at the airport gate, so Southern.

You should have heard us squealing like two nuts as we drove done the road !

And at the end of the road our little piece of heaven on earth.
I didn't finish the quilt, but it'll be O.K. As Husband assured me, It's home.

It Rained and it rained,

Over the weekend in Minnesota we drove to Wabasha, MN. Yes, the "Grumpy Old Men" movie town. It is charming.
The National Eagle Museum is there. It is fantastic, the Grand’s love it.

Even with all the rain we had a wonderful time, well worth the trip.

One Block at a Time

Learning a New Craft - Quilting

Over the past weekend at Son 2’s, daughter-in-law #2 and I did some sewing. I know I had a great time, Grandbabies in bed, guys playing pool and we sewed.
I think she had a good time and did a very good job.

She learned to chain piece and do a 4 patch square and a 9 patch. They looked great. Hope she is still going with it.
Instructions for what we did are here:
