A bit of Heaven

I'm a dessert person, I have no guilt about it either. Maybe that's the problem.
Any way, here's dessert from the other evening.

Heaven....
The kids shared this, they loved it.

And this is mine, KEY LIME Pie, my very favorite and it's one I can say I make very well.

My Paisley Quilt

I love paisley fabric and had to show my vacation quilt.
I used a very different palette of colors and patterns, it's just fun.

It's a very simple pattern, a 2 inch center square and them just log cabin around the outside with 1 inch strips.Simple quilt pattern in a paisley quilt
The finished size is a square 50" x 50" a good size for curling up on the couch. I used a 100% cotton batting and hand quilted.

Living with Quilts

I love having my quilts around me. I think with all the moving we have done as a family, I always know my quilts are close.
I'm a true believer that quilts are made to be used. I have only one quilt that's not used and it is one my Great-great grandmother made for my mom, when mom was a little girl. But everything else in this house is used, washed and loved.
This little star quilt is at the front entry, so it greets everyone who enters.

On the library table.
This little quilt is larger that the top of the chest, but I just folded it to fit, it's made with 30's reproduction fabrics, these quilts are all 100% cotton, and all hand quilted by me.

Quilt Top All Together, Applique Quilt in Red and Green

Hope you are not tired of hearing about this quilt, but I had to put it on a bed. And take pictures. I took over 25..... Anyone for NUTS. The only way to explain it, as if it's a 4 carat diamond ring. Nuts...I know, but to me that's what is it.
This Wedding quilt has been a VERY long time coming. I'm sooooo.... pleased.
So, I'm on to get it put together, batting and backing. Take it to the show in October and then the HAND quilting is going to be my winter project. I'd also like to paint the kitchen cabinets, clean out everyone's things from our basement, the boy's, my mom's, husband's had to purchases. Get the Little Quilt Ladies to the printer and finish up book 13....
