Thank you all for asking about the stain glass. These are on the windows in our
family room/guest room. I did three of them.

Window One
I've taken stain glass classes and I love the idea of it, but the doing the whole hot thing, is not for me. I designed the patterns, cut the glass, and on purchased frames I laid out the pieces, glued them all down (glass glue) and grouted them with gray grout.
Each frame measures 32' x 32' and they are very heavy.
They are hung with screws through the frame, so they can't fall.

The natural light comes through them all day and all are on the same light switch for night, making them glow.
One of my favorite blocks, the glass is wonderful.
You can do so much with quilt blocks.

They are stunning! I've never heard of using glue and grout to make something like this. I need to do some research...
ReplyDeleteThose are gorgeous! We must share a creative gene or two because I did something similar, but in reverse. I made a quilt that resembles stained glass.
ReplyDeleteNow I wish I knew how to make stained glass! :)
You can check out the quilt here, if you'd like...
