Quilt Ladies Handmade Red, White and Blue Part 5

The fabric in this quilt became so soft after it's recent washing. I'm thinking maybe cotton batting for this one.

Before getting this ready for quilting, I decide to put it on the bed and see.

Simple pattern, Simple colors and all fabric from my fabric stash

I Love IT !!
And it helped with my stress of summer 2011

Blue, White and Red Part 4

I sat the White and Blue strips into Red rows.

I wash all my fabric when I bring it home, but I felt before starting to quilt this I better wash is again.

With a gentle soap and cold water, I washed, twice.  I think this is the first time, I've ever done this, but the fabric was from my stash and I had to be sure before starting to quilt.

I'm having clothes line problems. SO, I put in on the rail and over lawn chairs.   No red running, no red bleeding.  The white has turned very soft.  Loving it !

Quilt Ladies Quilt Tips

Pin your quilt sections together at the seams and points. If you need to ease fabric, pin at the front, middle and end of the seam, then add pins to the extra fabric, seems to work better the more pins you use.

Quilt Ladies Handmade Table Runner

Years ago in Burlington, IA I started quilting.

This quilt is one of the second or third things I ever quilted.

I didn't know how to do corners, so I just did the best I could !! !

It's machine pieced

And I hand quilted, it's not perfect and there are a few runners on the back, but I really like it .
