how to make a log cabin quilt pattern
Cut 1  Dk. Gray – 2 ½” x 2 ½”
Cut 1 Lt. Gray  – 2 ½” x 2 ½”
Sew together

Cut 1 Purple - 2 ½” x 4 ½”
Sew to the right side
Cut 1 Blue - 2 ½” x 4 ½”
Sew to the bottom

Cut 1 Pink – 2 ½” x 6 ½”
Sew to the left side
Cut 1 Blue – 2 ½” x 6 ½”
Sew to the top

Cut 1 Gray – 1 ½” x 8 ½”
Sew to the right side
Cut 1 Red – 1 ½” x 9 ½”
Sew to the bottom
Cut 1 Blue – 1 ½” x 9 ½”
Sew to the left side

Cut 1 Red – 1 ½” x 8 ½”
Sew to the top
Cut 1 Blue – 1 ½” x 10 ½”
Sew to the right side

Cut 1 Gray – 1 ½” x 10 ½”
Sew to the left side

  1. What a classic pattern. I just love the log cabin and my hubby's grandmother taught this to me. I only have one block (from about 25 years ago) but I keep it in my box and dream about maybe trying to make a quilt one day:)
