Quilt Ladies on the Road to Jamesport,Missouri

When we travel the last thing I add to my suitcase is a quilt. If it won't fit, I carry it.
Staying in a hotel is alright, but I need my bit of home with me.
Road to Jamesport,Missouri
We recently spent some time in Jamesport, MO and saw quilts and more quilts. They make my little suitcase quilt look a bit sad.

Don't forget HERE is a block of the month with fabric from Fabric Barn, for purchase, she asked me to mention it.

Always ask before taking any pictures in any shop and I usually email my link?  BUT....With being an Amish community that is not possible.

The hand quilting is over the top WONDERFUL

Pieced and hand appliqued and hand quilted.

Come and see !

From Pillow Shams to Throw Pillows

I'm always on the look out for anything quilted at Goodwill and I happened
upon these pillow shams

From Pillow Shams to Throw Pillows
How to take a Pillow Shams and make a Throw Pillows

I washed them in hot water and put them in the dryer.

From Pillow Shams to Throw Pillows

After deciding the size I wanted,

I cut each side, making sure that both pillows would match.

I hand quilted around the white of each pillow and  used the backing from the shams
as the backing of each pillow.

On my couch ready for anything.

Quilt on the Deck at my House

Don't you just love the smell of a quilt which has been in the sun.
The fresh air dried crispness of the cotton.

Weather here is NUTS and I'm LOVING it.
I even put on shorts and sat in the sun yesterday???
It's March and in the 70's in Nebraska.... Don't know, but I like it.

But, we did not sleep under this quilt last night,

As, every bird in a 3 block area took a shot at it
and they hit it, BIG time !

I'm rewashing and I'm trying again,

I always seem to have banana's left on the counter, so I make bread.

Banana Bread

2 Cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup white sugar
1 egg
5 Tablespoons Greek yogurt or plain yogurt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup soft margarine
1 cup mashed bananas
 1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

Stir, flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg together.

Cream sugar, margarine, mix in egg, banana and yogurt, add dry ingredients.

Spread into one greased and floured 9" x 5' loaf pan ,
Sprinkle with a 1 Tablespoon of white sugar.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 1 hour.

Little Loafs for Banana Bread Recipe

I recently purchased small loaf pans and I get three small loaves out of this recipe. I like these better, let them cool, wrap each in foil and put in freezer.

Makes a wonderful addition to any meal. Pull out,  thaw and eat.
