Simple Quick Quilted Table Runner - Part 2

You will have 6, 4-patch quilt blocks, lay them out and 
like how they are placed in your table runner

You will have a process to move fabric, 
I like to fold the top block down making a good to good fabric sandwich

Then stack them from left to right, adding the next block to the bottom of the pile. You will get away you do it, there are no rules just what works best for you.

At the sewing machine, I match up my seam lines, as shown last time.
Pin and sew with your 1/4" seam allowance.


These are your units sewn together.

I fold the left to the center unit, pin once at the top,
and fold the right to the center and pin once at the top.

I match seam lines and pin at the sewing machine
Sew rows together

Press your blocks


Cut 2 border sides - 4 1/2" x 16 1/2"
Sew to the sides, press seam to the outside



Cut 2 border sides - 4 1/2" x 32 1/2"
Sew to the sides, press seam to the outside

16" x 32" a simple quick table runner.

Cut the binding 2 1/2" x 98"

Simple Quick Table Runner Quilt Pattern

With the new machine ready to go and the manual at arms length. I pulled out some pre-cut squares from a giveaway I received years ago
I'm going to walk you through the quilt process here a bit. If you are a seasoned quilter,  this is a very straight forward pattern you will need

Cut 24 Assorted Colors - 4 1/2" x 4 1/2"
Cut 2 Border Sides - 4 1/2" x 16 1/2
Cut 2 Border Top and Bottom - 4 1/2" x 32 1/2"
Binding Cut 2 1/2" x 98"

Sew together the 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" squares as shown above, you will have 12 units

 Press seams to one side



I like to lay my units out, mix and match the color placement.

This is done so that the corner go together perfect and your square is square
Good fabric to good fabric, seam to seam

Fold each seam in the opposite direction


Sew these 12 into 6, 4-patch blocks, match the seam lines as shown.


I still pin my work, always have and probably always will.


After units are sewn together, press the seam allowance


Back of the 4-patch square, you will have 6 of these blocks.

Finished these up and we'll start again in a few days.
