A Time of Thanks this Thanksgiving

quilt block pattern mother's dreamTake a moment to say thank you or write a note to someone. A hand written note, a postage stamp and as Molly did with 93 words, say thank you. It’s that time of the year

From The Quilt Ladies
Teresa reached for the letter as she awoke, it was all she could think about. A plan white envelope and lined note book paper inside, it held words of gratitude and love. She had read it fifty times, but again she opened it and smiled as she read.

Dear Momma,

You have always said it’s better to be late than sorry.

I’m late with my thank you,
For a life time of love,
A lifetime of understanding,
And a lifetime of patience

Being here at college and seeing the ways of the other students, I now know I’ve lived the gift of love and never knew it. I want you to know that I do understand that nothing in my life would have been possible without your strength and love.

Please, know I love you and thank you for everything,

Teresa's morning moved as it always did, the boys off to school, Annie was dressed and Teresa was loading her up for Tuesday quilting, funny today they were all working on the pattern, “Mother’s Dream”.  Teresa patted the letter in her pocket just to make sure it was still there.

As she arrived all the ladies were in Emily’s kitchen, pouring coffee and laughing.  Teresa handed the letter to Emily and said, “This came yesterday, she has done it, she’s grown up.”

“Yes, she’s all grown up,” Emily hugged Teresa around the waist, as they both knew it was all changing.

  1. I love a handwritten note. It means so much that someone has taken the time to sit down and write. Thanks for sharing this on your post today. Happy Thanksgiving.

Thank you for taking the time to let me know what you are thinking and for being KIND.
