Making these couple of simple quilt blocks, using gray and yellow. The first quilt block is HERE for you,

Today's quilt block is using squares and triangle and has a finished size of six inches by six inches.

Cut 2 Yellow – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”

Cut 2 Gray – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”

Make Triangles - How to Make Triangles

Cut 1 Gray – 2 ½” x 2 ½”

Cut 4 Yellow – 2 ½” x 2 ½”

Piece as shown

Sew rows and then rows into blocks

The other day it was using many different quilt sections in one quilt block, today it's just two.   
Finished Quilt Block size 6" x 6"

Cut 4 Gray – 1 ½” x 2 ½”

Cut 4 Lt. Gray – 1 ½” x 2 ½”

Sew gray to lt. gray

Cut 2 Lt. Gray – 2 ½” x 2 ½”

Cut 1 Med. Gray – 2 ½” x 2 ½”

Cut 2 Gray – 2 ½” x 2 ½”

Piece as shown

One of the best way to become a better quilt maker is to make quilt blocks.  This quilt block has a lot of what you need to know and it's all here in ONE quilt block.

There are many ways to make quilt block triangles,
here is how I do them.
How I do squares for my quilt blocks.

Finished Quilt Block Size 6" x 6"

Cut 2 Gray – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”

Cut 2 Dark .Gray – 2 7/8”x 2 7/8”

Make Triangles –corners

Cut 2 Yellow – 1 7/8” x 1 7/8”

Cut 2 Gray – 1 7/8” x 1 7/8”

Make Triangles -center

Cut 4 Yellow – 1 ½” x 2 ½”

Cut 4 Lt. Gray – 1 ½” x 2 ½”

Sew yellow to lt. gray

Sew as shown

Sew Rows together and rows into block

How to make Quilt Block Triangles

Cut 4 Gray – 37/8” x 3 7/8”

Cut 4 White – 37/8” x 3 7/8”

Make Triangles

Cut 4 Yellow – 2½” x 2 ½”

Cut 4 White – 2 ½”x 1 ½”

Cut 4 White – 3 ½” x 1 ½”

Cut 1 Yellow – 4 ½” x 4 ½”

Cut 1 Pink – 5 ½” x 1 ½”

Sew to left side

Cut 1 Pink - 6 ½” x 1 ½”

Sew to bottom

Cut 1 Pink – 6 ½” x 1 ½”

Sew to the right side

Cut 1 Pink – 6 ½ x 1 ½”

Sew to the top

Sew as shown
