"From Dream to Reality"

how to make a dream a reality book
It's never easy, but you have to make sure you are ready to start the process,
In, "From  Dream to Reality"  I walk you through the process of an idea, research and question's you have to ask yourself.

1) Do Not quit your Day Job, you'd think this would be an easy idea. But, way to many people seem to just jump in feet first. We all have wanted to do this, without a plan, savings and lots of knowing what you want we jump but that way you will built a wall that is VERY hard to over come. SO, please just follow along here for a bit and let me see if I can help identify what you want and how you are going to get it.

2) Go purchase a notebook, PLEASE get a notebook and write everything down in it. You are building a plan, these first ideas are goals.   See the entire post....

Making a dream into reality, plain and simple, costs.

All decisions to change your life will be effected by money. So, start learning about YOUR own money, NEVER leave these answers to someone else,

YOU must know, YOUR Money

how to make a dream reality

Start by making a realistic list/budget of what you spend now. I’m 100% againstusing credit cards to fund a business, do not quit your job, and when you start your business do it small and smart.  I have done The Quilt Ladies on a 100% cash only bases, start saving now.

To know what you can save you much know what you spend. Write down your monthly payments: And be Truthful: Get your check book out, bank statements and write it down.........READ MORE HERE

How I Saved to Fund The Quilt Ladies Early ON !
I took my knowledge one step further:
How to save by changing your life

What I started doing in 2003 was my own savings program, I knew what I was doing (working at a bank) was not right for me, but at the time, this is all I did know.

I started to save this way, as if I was making a car payment. I opened up a savings account with $25.00 (at another bank, I’m very private) and made out 3years of deposit tickets just as if I owed the money to the savings account, like a car payment.....Read MORE HERE

You have taken the time to write out your list, you have thought a bit about money, budget and how to save.

1.    You are ready to ask yourself the question?
2.  Your question?  Not Mine, Your Question?
And this takes some people weeks to come up with, and then others have it in moments, let yourself take the time YOU need to ask this question.
The Question:

You have asked and answered the question and you know what you want. It's now time to do the research or the work. Make a "From Dream to Reality" Plan

My Question
“How can I have a quilt shop?”

With the Internet research can be pretty quick and easy. Read, go to the library and go to the reference librarian, ask for information in book form on your subject. Read study, LEARN. I needed the latest information in book form on the quilting, fabric, and craft industry.  Take notes, leave nothing to memory. (Use your notebook)

For a business you must understand the laws in your area about licenses, taxes and insurance. Learn it. Not the fun part, but a necessity. Talk with suppliers, get them off the internet and make a phone call, always tell them you are new and have lots of questions, they have products to sale and they will help you. A list of questions always helps with this, email off a few questions to suppliers and adds your name and phone number and they will call you, outline times that are the best for them to call.

NOTE: Write everything down, with this information you will be able to see your dream better and you will have it always. In mid-2009 we had a water pipe break in our basement, a complete redo, drywall, carpet, everything. The best thing I found (in a plastic tub) my original notebook, a wealth of information, my original plan, it re-energized me.

Can my idea move forward?

1.      Is this a business, product/service or event something that you can make happen?

2.      Is it something that you still want to happen?

3.      I have had people do this research and tell me, “I didn’t like doing the research about this, why would I want to do this daily?”

In doing the research you spent ZERO of your savings to find out you don’t like your idea or that your idea is PERFECT !

In doing “MY” research, what I learned,
This is also known as
your “Gut” check moment

I want to OWN a Shop, NOT run a shop. This is very important in retail.
You have to do some soul searching, .....READ MORE HERE

You have "YOUR" Dream Broken down, outlined, savings started and moving forward.
This is shock to some people, BUT PLEASE

Stop Talking

PLEASE stop talking, it's not the time, it takes nine months for a baby, it takes months to purchase a home, it's takes time to get a job, PLEASE, do not get on social media and explain anything to anyone,

After saying, “Don’t talk”,
You will still need someone to talk everything over with.

You will need a support partner, if you are planning a wedding you will need someone in your family to help and support your ideas. Going back to school will become a family project, you will need support, and it may be smart to do a bit of research before starting this conversation...... Read MORE HERE

Start, Start slowly, BUT START

You can go to work all day, come home, put everyone to bed and start. Turn on the computer, write, put your notebook in your bag and take it everywhere, have an idea write it down.  Treat yourself to lunch out once a week by yourself, take your notebook or laptop and work. You will not believe what you can get done in a short amount of time and how fast your lunch hour will go.

Having a dream and taking it the next step is all about what you do. Do not get in to, “I’ll read one more book.” “I’ll take one more class.” YOU have to jump in, do it slowly and with thought, but at some time you have to jump in....Read More HERE

Ask for Help

Making a dream come true, From Dream to Reality

If you don’t have the answer, “ASK.” People love to talk and talk about their selves. I asked my hair stylist and the plumber who came to the house. Ask them how they did it, why they did it, what did they like the best and the least.
My plumber said, “No one’s asked me that before,” The next day.... Read MORE
