Only Grandma Noticed

It could be said that I love my children and Grand's just a bit too much. I pretty much think everything they do is wonderful.

When I arrived at Son #1's to have him drive me to the airport in February, the laundry was on the clothes line.  But, look and see what Grandma noticed.

Could this picture be anymore Sweet !   Baby sleeper and Big boy under's.

Just TOO cute ! !

Living with Quilts Around My House

Recently, reading a blog forum about how pictures make your posts better, they talked about lighting, balance and behind scapes of each picture.

 On an average I shot 6-8 pictures of everything I take pictures of.  I figure if I go to all the work to get it out,  I'm going to over do it.

What if I didn't ???

We live with my quilts, we use them, wash them and love them.

So, a few nights ago I walked around the house.

How many quilts to you sleep UNDER at night?

And my sewing room wall, as I see it daily.   You will also notice there are no Quilt Ladies Book Quilts out, they are put away and used for shows only !

Quilted Rocking Chair Back

A quilt can become something different.

I enjoy the Amish colors and working with them is always fun.

I think this is the first time I used a dark batting and it makes a world of difference with the black fabric.

 This is my Great-Grandmothers rocker. A very long time ago, I'd said to my grandmother, "What a great chair," and years later she arrived one day with it for me. With them both ladies gone, I just like setting is in, it brings me peace.

 I am in color Heaven, I love it ! !  

I took a traditional pattern, change the piecing up and then added color.

There is no complicated piecing here.

The color adds the complication.

Full of YOURSELF Quilt

Not too do or Full of YOURSELF Quilt !

This is my what not to do quilt and it has never been to a quilt show, until now !

It's the quilt that gives my heart perpetuation's, It's just not right.

This quilt is 20+ years old and one of the first times I appliqued and pieced on the same quilt.

I think it would be better, IF I added loads more quilting, but that's not going to happen.
Machine pieced and hand appliqued and quilted (some what) 

Can you also see that my colors are not right, the applique is lost in the piece work.

This is my, "don't get  full of yourself quilt ! "

It brings me right down to earth, every time !

Piecing Paisley

I'm in the sewing room and working with the paisley fabric. Fabric picks

I've always thought about doing a contest piece and I think this will be a try ?

I use the "How to method"  - HERE

There will be a traditional pattern, but the rest, it's going to be me, not for a book, not for sell, not for anyone BUT me !

I need an all about me project, it's been a very long time.

Please notice, that NONE of these patterns, colors are textbook, but they work. ! !

It will be machine pieced, hand appliqued and hand quilted. It will not be done tomorrow and that's alright, I need to start taking me time.... again!
