and I'm doing it a bit different, sharing the pattern as usual, but then  I will walk you through the piecing of the quilt pattern. I break the block down showing you how a quilt pattern which may look difficult is done. If you don't need help piecing a block, get started ! ! Great beginners sewing machine

8" x 8" 

Cutting for entire block

Cut 1 Lt. Green – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”

Cut 1 White – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”

Make Triangles

Cut 1 Green – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”

Cut 1 White – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”

Make Triangles

Cut 8 Assorted Colors – 1 7/8” x 1 7/8”

Cut 8 White – 1 7/8” x 1 7/8”

Make Triangles

Cut 2 Lt. Green – 1 ½” x 1 ½”

Cut 2 Green – 1 ½” x 1 ½”

Cut 4 White – 2 ½” x 3 ½”

Cut 4 White – 1 ½” x 1 ½”

How to piece a square quilt block

How to piece a triangle square quilt block

Cutting for the entire block is above

this cutting is just for this unit

For the corner

Make 4 of this unit

Make your triangles – How to link

Cut 1 Lt. Green – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”

Cut 1 White – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”

Make Triangles

Cut 1 Green – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”

Cut 1 White – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”

Make Triangles

Cut 8 Assorted Colors – 1 7/8” x 1 7/8”

Cut 8 White – 1 7/8” x 1 7/8”

Make Triangles

Cut 4 White – 1 ½” x 1 ½”

Lay your pieces out and sew together each set as shown,

Sew those units into the block.

Cut 2 White – 2 ½” x 3 ½”

Do this 2 times

Cut 2 Lt. Green – 1 ½” x 1 ½”

Cut 2 Green – 1 ½” x 1 ½”

Cut 4 White – 2 ½” x 3 ½”

Sew rows into block

It's REALLY Going to HAPPEN, Moving.....

It's A BIT funny the things that make 

something real to you. 

A house offer, an inspection, an appraisal all done. But, it's didn't all seem real until I started unloading my office.

Staging a Bedroom, Making Rubber Tubs into a Bed

Doing it a bit Different 

This is the corner where my buffet was at one time. This room has never had a bed in it, it was my sewing room. So putting the house on the market it needed a bed.

I took the packed fabric tubs and make a Day Bed

Sheet to cover the tubs and then an all feather quilt

My Singer Feather Weight Sewing Machine

I knew it was in the closet and seeing it again, well...

It's been a very long time

I had to say good-bye to it's original box years ago and this carpet bag 
is perfect for it.

A Singer Feather Weight - 
My mom gave this to me years ago and I used it for classes for years. 

She tells the story behind it.  This sewing machine was the first thing that her and my Father purchased together. She remember is being around 70.00 dollars. If they did it on payments my Grandfather would have to co-sign. They saved and purchased with cash, she said with a very large smile.  The pedal was replaced sometime ??

It works wonderful

Cut 4 Gray – 2 ½” x 2 ½”

Cut 4 Yellow – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”

Cut corner to corner

Sew triangle unit together

Cut 2 Yellow – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”

Cut 2 White -  2 7/8” x 2 7/8”

Make Triangles

Cut 4 White – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”

Cut corner to corner

Sew triangle unit together

Cut 1 Yellow – 2 ½” x 2 ½”

Sewing Room Clean Out !

It took me time, my heart and lots of pictures. My sewing room is getting cleaned up and OUT !

This is how my sewing room started, I had the buffet for years and it's the perfect height for cutting fabric. Husband built the shelving around it for me.

My buffet was a huge conversation on Facebook, the other day when I posted it's picture. I put it on Craigslist and it sold in 1 day ! It was VERY cold here as it was loaded up, but the lady who purchased it was thrilled and me....I'm alright with it.

My Chair Quilt

I took a border class I think when we lived in Windom, MN, YEARS ago.

It measures about 14" x 20"

Each block is 5" x 5"
