I'm breaking quilt blocks down. May look hard, but give it a chance, you can do this quilt block.

Cut 12 White – 2 ½” x 2 ½”

Cut 20 Green – 1 ½” x 1 ½”
Cut 16 White – 1 ½” x 1 ½”

Cut 4 Green – 1 ½” x 8 ½”

Cut 8 White – 1 ½” x 8 ½”

Cut 8 Green – 2 ½” x 2 ½”

Sew as shown – 4 times


Cut 1 White – 4 ½” x 4 ½”
Cut 4 White – 2 ½” x 2 ½”
Sew rows together as shown

Cut 2 Green – 1 ½” x 8 ½”
Cut 4 White – 1 ½” x 8 ½”

Sew as shown and add to the star sides

 9- patch corners
Cut 20 Green – 1 ½” x 1 ½”
Cut 16 White – 1 ½” x 1 ½”
(I changed my color to red, see block)

Sew together as shown – 4 times

Cut 4 White – 1 ½” x 8 ½”



Sew as shown add 9-patch on the outside – 2 rows
Sew rows into quilt block

King's Highway Quilt Block Pattern

24" x 24" This is a big quilt block and it's fun and easy to sew together. Make four of the quilt block and you have a perfect baby or lap quilt.

Cut 4 Lt. Blue – 4 ½” x 6 ½”

Cut 8 Black – 4 ½” x 2 ½”
Cut 16 Black – 6 ½” x 2 ½”

Cut 28 Assorted Colors – 2 ½” x 2 ½”

Finished Block Size is 10" x 10"

Cutting for entire block

Cut 1 White – 2 ½” x 2 ½”
Cut 2 Blue – 2 ½” x 1 ½”
Cut 2 Blue – 4 ½” x 1 ½”

Cut 4 White – 2 ½” x 4 ½”

Cut 8 Pink – 2 ½” x 2 ½”
Draw line on back corner to corner
 this is your sewing line

Cut 4 White – 2 ½” x 2 ½”

Cut 16 Blue – 1 7/8” x 1 7/8”
Cut 16 White – 1 7/8” x 1 7/8”
Make Triangles


Cut 4 Blue – 1 ½” x 1 ½”

Cut 8 Blue – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”

and I'm doing it a bit different, sharing the pattern as usual, but then  I will walk you through the piecing of the quilt pattern. I break the block down showing you how a quilt pattern which may look difficult is done. If you don't need help piecing a block, get started ! ! Great beginners sewing machine

Cutting for entire block

Cut 1 Lt. Green – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”
Cut 1 White – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”
Make Triangles

Cut 1 Green – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”
Cut 1 White – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”
Make Triangles

Cut 8 Assorted Colors – 1 7/8” x 1 7/8”
Cut 8 White – 1 7/8” x 1 7/8”
Make Triangles

Cut 2 Lt. Green – 1 ½” x 1 ½”
Cut 2 Green – 1 ½” x 1 ½”

Cut 4 White – 2 ½” x 3 ½”

Cut 4 White – 1 ½” x 1 ½”

Make your triangles – How to link

Cut 1 Lt. Green – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”
Cut 1 White – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”
Make Triangles

Cut 1 White – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”
Make Triangles

Cut 8 Assorted Colors – 1 7/8” x 1 7/8”

Lay your pieces out and sew together each set as shown,
Sew those units into the block.

Do this 2 times

Cut 2 Green – 1 ½” x 1 ½”

Cut 4 White – 2 ½” x 3 ½”

Sew rows into block

This is a quilt pattern I drafted for a quilt for Grand #1 for his birthday.

It may have an "Official Name" but to me it's Grand #1's Quilt block.










Quilt Block Finished size 10 ½” x 10 ½”
               


Cut 2 White           3 7/8” x 3 7/8”
Cut 2 Red             3 7/8” x 37/8”
Make the triangles

Cut 5 Blue            2” x 2”
Cut 4 White          2” x 2”

Cut 4 White          5” x 2”
Cut 4 Gray            5” x 2”

I didn't over think about fabric, if it was a paisley, it was in and if it was a plaid, it was in, everything was from my closet.

Finished block size 6" x 6" 

Cut 4 assort colors - 2 1/2" x 2 1/2"
Sew into 4-Patch
Cut 1 plaid, - 4 1/2" x 1 1/2"
Sew to the right side
Cut 1 plaid  - 5 1/2" x 1 1/2"
Sew to top
Cut 1 plaid  - 5 1/2" x 1 1/2"
Sew to left side
Cut 1 plaid  - 6 1/2" x 1 1/2"
Sew to bottom
