Plant Stand Painted too !

I had the garage a mess so decided to paint my plant stand too. This is a piece I picked up just after we moved here.

If you haven't noticed I'm having a ball decorating our little home.

1950's, My kind of New Phone Stand

This is a phone stand from I think the 50's that I found in a shop for $10.00 it's in great condition and had the glass top too !

But, as usual I could NEVER leave it alone !
I sat it out in the sun, it had that day old smell, but the sun did it, GONE !

The top, in good condition, but used and loved

Kilz Primer now comes in a spray can and I love it !
One coat of Kilz.

Then spray painted on the color, I did the green first,
waiting between each coat.

Taped off the top and added the blue.
I let is sit for a few days in the garage,
here things seem to need a bit to dry completely

From Treadle Sewing Machine to Table

I've had this Treadle machine for years and years, it was a Great-Aunts

It had been used as everything but a sewing machine,
from plant stand to desk.

We had moved it to the garage to sale in our sale in April, but after looking at for a day, asked Husband if you could take it apart and we'd move the base.

A bit of time and it was apart.

I decide I just wanted the base and the four drawers which were on the sides.

I finally had some time and the painted started,
Husband cut me a piece of wood for the top.

White base top, my flowers and then about 4 coats of poly.

The drawers with white paint inside, they fit perfect.

My  treadle base table !

Painted Chest

This is a chest that my Dad's Mother used, my mom's had it for years and give it to me.

painted cedar chest
It was completely black and I've added the white
I sanded the top a bit and used white oil paint, I like the finish of oil paint.

Painted the top, handles and the legs.
Learned that painting in Florida with all the humidity drying time is quite a bit longer making this a no hurry project.

Painted Dresser - Furniture Project

We had almost 3 weeks before our things arrived, so we had time to get things moved out, floors cleaned and new carpet down. Just making it ours, not a rental unit.

I had NOT done a paint project in MONTHS and I jumped in to do this one.

painting an old dresser
This is the dresser before, it was in the living room.

It is a solid piece of furniture and it's been painted before, was
in Grand #3's nursery.

Just did a light sanding.

Used the same hardware, painted

The drawers are a black satin enamel

The body is a white OIL. I love oil, it has just a bit of a shine

Hardware and fronts

Now it's my dresser in our bedroom

Sewing Room Table Redoing it With Paint

I've been wanting to paint this table for a bit,  I picked it up years ago at an auction in Spirit Lake, IA. And, I know it was only a couple of dollars.

Table Redoing it With Paint

I saw this on one of the decorating shows to use Porch & Floor paint on furniture. So, off to the paint store and had it mixed to pink in "OIL"    Next time.... I'll go with Latex.

It's a drop leaf with only on side that drops.  Which is just great for the size of my sewing room.

Off to the garage and paint, I did deglosser first and then daily coats of the oil paint.

This is the first coat, I did 3 coats, on each side.
