Summer at the Farm
Book Six of the Collection  ALL The Quilt Ladies Book NOW in ONE BOOK ! HERE   bethanndoing.com

The farm is where the children spend the summer and this summer The "Ladies" do too.
“You haven’t answered my question Emily.”
“Yes, I bought…bought them hats and horses,” she said turning to take Anna from Molly. “Hat’s and horses? Or hats with horses on them?” Teresa was now following Emily up the porch stairs.
“Horses and new cowboy hats,” there she had said it. Molly was standing on the bottom stair smiling ear to ear, watching her mother.

This was going to be good.Emily handed Anna to Sarah. Sarah too was listening to every word. She always thought that in another life these two women had been sisters.

“Horses, four legged animals that need food and a place to live?” Teresa stated.
“Saddles and shoes?” “Doctor bills?” “Horses, You bought them horses?” “My boys have horses?”

Teresa said, “Did you see that boy? Someone better get me a big stick.”
All laughed, “A big stick, you are going to need the whole tree trunk. Or maybe a bucket of water.’ “And Teresa, Molly has the bug too,” Helen said very seriously.
“The bug? She has the bug, the bite and the itch is getting hard not to scratch,” Emily laughed.
“Did you see him watching her?” Jenny added.

“I was having a hard time swallowing. My blood presser was rising,” they all talked at once.

In summer you need a little color, and color is what this quilt is all about, Star Lap Quilt

The story continues as the business finds a new home and a blow of hate brings all together.

"Teresa woke and could hear voices. For a moment she thought she should get up and go down stairs, but that thought passed as she tried to roll over in bed. She was going nowhere. Her mind walked through the past few hours and tried to wish what had happened away. But the pain in her face and the burning of her arm were real. She heard footsteps and was very pleased to see Molly. Molly had her arms wrapped around herself and looked so young."

Teresa had found the right recipes. William was not surprised
the cakes sold so fast, they almost sold themselves. He just had to get the store owner to taste them. One taste and they were hooked.Working side by side had been the right decision. Teresa hoped to repay the loan in just over a year. William was even right about the name “The Kitchen”. It was what everyone called it and it seemed to fit.

A First 4-Patch is the quilt awaiting you.

"William was the first to see Molly. He rose and Molly kissed him on the cheek. He stood there and could not say anything. Who was this beautiful young lady?

Emily whispered to him, “It’s time to sit down William.” Molly stepped over her brothers as they both sat looking up at her, their mouths open. Teresa didn't looked up, she was moving over to make space for the new arrivals. In one motion, Molly kissed her mother on her cheek and took Anna into her arms. As she was turning to set down Teresa looked up."
“I will not be putting you out of a job will I?” Jonathan asked Mary Alice. “No, no, our help is a gift to Teresa. Helen helps in the morning, and I help in the afternoons. You will be making a lot of people very happy,” Mary Alice answered. “I am ready to be fired,” Mary Alice said with a smile.

You will meet Jenny in this book and follow along as The "Ladies" learned that they are more than just friends. As the story continues.

Everyone moved in different directions, and in less than 10 minutes they were on their
way to the Brown Farm. They were met by George who smiled when he saw them, “Ladies,,,,,you are a gift from,,,,,” he started to say.
“Get out of our way George, and let us see what is needed here,” Helen said with the tone all mothers have.
He shook his head and moved to the side. Inside the living room, they saw that Anna’s bed had been moved from her room.

A family, they had become a family. They were total strangers who chose each other. They started back into the house and Helen said, “I’m going home in a little bit. I have a quilt to start cutting.” The house was at peace as they returned The "Ladies" show their strength in friendship, as words are not needed, just help is.

Mary Alice returned with the coffee and found that Helen had finished a total of three two patches.

“Hope you don’t mind, but these cookies looked good. Great for coffee dunking.” Helen’s mind was Quilt from Helen and Teresa in Book Two of The Quilt Ladies Book Collectionworking. Now her body needed a little help, too. As Helen had her coffee and three cookies, they talked.
“There is no wrong way or right way of quil

“Life was just too hard to deal with and even harder at two in the morning. All I had were my own thoughts. A needle and thread made things just a little better.”

The books are coming together and I’m very pleased with them.
The numbers are better and I’ll be able to sell them at a price I’ll be happy with.
It’s not hard to move things around, just take's a bit of time, quite a bit, but I’m moving another step forward.

The Quilt Ladies Book Two Helen and Teresa read their story

The Quilt Ladies Book Two Helen and Teresa read their story
The Quilt Ladies Book Collection
Here's Book 2
Meet Helen and Teresa
Helen

There was a long silence, "Well…. It was the only thing I could think of to get you quilting. I knew you were too nice to come out and say no. Are you angry at me?" Mary Alice turned to look into her face.

Helen was silent for a moment, "For bringing me back to life, for giving me my husband back, for giving me friendship, and all of you Ladies?. Oh yes…I am angry," Helen answered with a large smile and continued, "A quilt for me? I like that."
Teresa

There were only five people today for lunch, and The Ladies knew they would have rather been invited to the quilting.
When someone asked about it, Teresa said, "No, no this is my occasion. I am not sharing this with them." Everyone all understood. This was her group. Her friends were all hers for the day.

The children ate under an apple tree on an old quilt. The Ladies sat together by the house. Mary Alice wondered if her girls noticed all the talking and laughter that came from The Ladies’ lunch. They were not just mothers or wives, but friends. She wanted them to have these kinds of friendships all through their lives. She knew that loving your husband and family were not the only things you need in life, you need to find what is your own. She wanted them to have a job, friendships and a hobby, such as writing or reading. She wanted them to have anything extra to make their days happy.
The Quilt Ladies are coming together, I'm on the late (hopefully) proof and then off to printer and a web page, but right now I'm happy. I've learned to just change the time line I've set up for myself and not let this stop any forward movement I've achieved.

The Quilt Ladies Book One Mary Alice and Emily Brown their story

The Quilt Ladies Book One Mary Alice and Emily Brown their story
The Quilt Ladies Store

You don’t have to be a Quilter to enjoy
The Quilt Ladies,
Just be a Reader.

I’m going to do a bit of a show and tell about each book.

Here I go ! Book One, of The Quilt Ladies Collection

I would like to introduce the first two ladies to you. In book one you will meet two ladies, Mary Alice Gordon and Emily Brown.

First is Mary Alice, she's the one who started out most like me. She's married, husband Samuel. Has two beautiful girls, Hannah and Kimberly.

Mary Alice starts everything, she moves into a new community and needs to connect with someone. The arrival of Emily as a friend brings Mary Alice into a circle of friends.

"The girls settled into school just perfectly. It was as though they had been there forever. Mary Alice was the one not doing well. She was lost. Mostly she was just plain lonely. At times she felt as though people were judging her. When she worked in the store, people were always friendly, but just not too friendly. After a while she felt invisible. What she did and what kind of person she was didn't matter."

"Her name was Emily Brown. Mary Alice had met her in the store and they visited for a while, but Emily was here today to ask if she had ever quilted. Emily knew from her face and from her quick yes, she had. "
"
From that moment on things changed. The group of "Ladies" Mary Alice met became as important to her as breathing. She formed some wonderful friendships. They accepted her so quickly, almost like they had known each other for years. They were fascinating and amazing people. They all knew women need each other more than men do. The "Ladies" brought out the best in Mary Alice. Talking or sharing ideas, she could say anything, and they never judged her or repeated what had been said. "

This is just a taste of the Ladies, stop back in and see who's next.
