The Wedding, Book Eight of The Quilt Ladies Book Collection by Beth Ann StrubLove is in the air, so is organizing, shopping and quilting. What The "Ladies" do best.

“One afternoon, before your mother passed. She had me do something,” reaching for her bag.
“This is it,” Teresa laid a small wrapped package in front of her.
Emily’s eyes moved to the package, “Oh,” and a large sigh came from her."
"As Emily read it to herself and then out loud, she could not believe that her mother was thinking of her.
“I have something too,” Sarah moved toQuilt from The Wedding, Book Eight of The Quilt Ladies Book Collection the counter and turned holding a brown paper package."

Helen took her by the hand and walked her through the barn, “I have the children finishing up the tables
, just a bit more and we’ll be finished here. Have to say it’s been so much fun.” Helen giggled and squeezed Emily around the waist. Before Emily could react Helen was off, “You go get cleaned up, Jenny will be out soon with lunch for everyone.” Emily took a deep breath and just enjoyed the moment, Teresa took her hand and guided her to the house, it was bath and hair time.

It was about noon when the children returned to the house, Quilt from The Wedding, Book Eight of The Quilt Ladies Book Collection“Lunch is served.” The door slammed and feet came up the stairs.
“Jonathan just left. He looked better as time went on, but the mans scared to death,” Jenny laughed.

A wedding is always time for that special quilt this one is it. A Wedding Quilt, 12 pieced and appliqued, done as The "Ladies" say, " Quilt by committee."

Young love and one of The "Ladies" is in love. Continuing on at the farm, the girls come to visit too.

Matthew was at the counter, he turned carrying a tray of food, one glance and he said, “It’s about time.”
“Yeah, we have been wanting for this since you moved here
Quilt from Book Seven of The Quilt Ladies Book Collection, Love at Any AgeJonathan. What took you so long?”
Harry patted Jonathan on the back, “Just remember, she was our girl first, and that does give us seniority.”

"Sarah was the first one to see them all. As she moved up the stairs, “I hope you all look as good as me tonight, or those men down in the kitchen are going to dance only with me. They are all looking rather handsome too.”A gasp, “Oh, my.”
She saw the girls, first Kimberly walked to her. Sarah kissed her very lightly on the cheek. Kimberly moved to the side so she could see Hannah.

Another gasp, Hannah nodded and moved to the side, and there stood Molly and Emily “
Oh, my,” and a long silence.

Summer at the Farm
Book Six of the Collection  ALL The Quilt Ladies Book NOW in ONE BOOK ! HERE   bethanndoing.com

The farm is where the children spend the summer and this summer The "Ladies" do too.
“You haven’t answered my question Emily.”
“Yes, I bought…bought them hats and horses,” she said turning to take Anna from Molly. “Hat’s and horses? Or hats with horses on them?” Teresa was now following Emily up the porch stairs.
“Horses and new cowboy hats,” there she had said it. Molly was standing on the bottom stair smiling ear to ear, watching her mother.

This was going to be good.Emily handed Anna to Sarah. Sarah too was listening to every word. She always thought that in another life these two women had been sisters.

“Horses, four legged animals that need food and a place to live?” Teresa stated.
“Saddles and shoes?” “Doctor bills?” “Horses, You bought them horses?” “My boys have horses?”

Teresa said, “Did you see that boy? Someone better get me a big stick.”
All laughed, “A big stick, you are going to need the whole tree trunk. Or maybe a bucket of water.’ “And Teresa, Molly has the bug too,” Helen said very seriously.
“The bug? She has the bug, the bite and the itch is getting hard not to scratch,” Emily laughed.
“Did you see him watching her?” Jenny added.

“I was having a hard time swallowing. My blood presser was rising,” they all talked at once.

In summer you need a little color, and color is what this quilt is all about, Star Lap Quilt

The story continues as the business finds a new home and a blow of hate brings all together.

"Teresa woke and could hear voices. For a moment she thought she should get up and go down stairs, but that thought passed as she tried to roll over in bed. She was going nowhere. Her mind walked through the past few hours and tried to wish what had happened away. But the pain in her face and the burning of her arm were real. She heard footsteps and was very pleased to see Molly. Molly had her arms wrapped around herself and looked so young."

Teresa had found the right recipes. William was not surprised
the cakes sold so fast, they almost sold themselves. He just had to get the store owner to taste them. One taste and they were hooked.Working side by side had been the right decision. Teresa hoped to repay the loan in just over a year. William was even right about the name “The Kitchen”. It was what everyone called it and it seemed to fit.

A First 4-Patch is the quilt awaiting you.

You will meet Jenny in this book and follow along as The "Ladies" learned that they are more than just friends. As the story continues.

Everyone moved in different directions, and in less than 10 minutes they were on their
way to the Brown Farm. They were met by George who smiled when he saw them, “Ladies,,,,,you are a gift from,,,,,” he started to say.
“Get out of our way George, and let us see what is needed here,” Helen said with the tone all mothers have.
He shook his head and moved to the side. Inside the living room, they saw that Anna’s bed had been moved from her room.

A family, they had become a family. They were total strangers who chose each other. They started back into the house and Helen said, “I’m going home in a little bit. I have a quilt to start cutting.” The house was at peace as they returned The "Ladies" show their strength in friendship, as words are not needed, just help is.

Quilt Top All Together, Applique Quilt in Red and Green

Hope you are not tired of hearing about this quilt, but I had to put it on a bed. And take pictures. I took over 25..... Anyone for NUTS. The only way to explain it, as if it's a 4 carat diamond ring. Nuts...I know, but to me that's what is it.
This Wedding quilt has been a VERY long time coming. I'm sooooo.... pleased.
So, I'm on to get it put together, batting and backing. Take it to the show in October and then the HAND quilting is going to be my winter project. I'd also like to paint the kitchen cabinets, clean out everyone's things from our basement, the boy's, my mom's, husband's had to purchases. Get the Little Quilt Ladies to the printer and finish up book 13....

They are FINISHED, the hand work, applique is ALL done ! ! !
I've add the extra leaves needed and it's time to add the batting and the backing.
I have to make a fabric store trip for the back. I think I'm going to do red....
I know, not the normal color, but the front is so traditional and I've always wanted a red quilt.
This quilt will not be used, I think this one is a look at quilt.

Book 8 of the Quilt Ladies
A Wedding.....  bethanndoing.com
All Quilt Ladies Books on Kindle -
NOW all The Quilt Ladies Books are in ONE Book - HERE

The writing of book 8 was so much fun for me. I planned a wedding and had to answer, ask or tell anyone, why or what I wanted. From the simpleness of the day, to the family and friends. It is what I hope my day was about, many years ago.

At the time of book 8's writing, we lived in Windom, Minnesota. A VERY long way from home and I had some very long days and even longer nights. Son #2 was in high school, working, sports and always busy,
Husband had his first retail store and worked 24/7.

And I wrote, the wedding was on.....
I wrote, ate and dreamed of nothing but a wedding, for months and months.
Then came the quilt.
It was overwhelming, everything I've always wanted in a quilt.
This one was designed and done for me, no one else, just me.

There are 12 blocks, pieced on a sewing machine and hand appliqued with
vines and leaves.

Just about Finished Quilt Top in Red, White and Blue

I have a quilt book of everything I've quilted or tops I've pieced. I was looking through it and this is one of the first book quilts.
It's for book one, I've come along way.

I was with the printer this morning and everything is looking good. Book 8 is the largest and has to be stapled differently, so hopefully next week, I'm hoping Monday, I'll be a printed author, of The Quilt Ladies Collection.
What a great trip, and maybe a WILD ride.

This is pictured hanging on the fence in Sioux City, IA, at was when the boys were home. WOW.A bit ago.
My next project, I'm going to do something little, cutting 1 inch blocks and going to have fun, not going to graph anything, just going to play.
