Happy Quilt Pattern Block for YOU !

Want to make me HAPPY ! Pull out a quilt I made in front of me ! 

Nothing make's me HAPPIER ! 

This is the seating at Grand #3's soccer game. It's his Daddy's VERY old quilt. I think it is about 15-18 years old... I machine pieced and  had it long arm quilted. The pattern is drafted for you here too ! !

Cut 1 Purple - 14 1/2" x 2 1/2"
Cut 4 Gray - 4 1/2" x 2 1/2"
Cut 4 Gray - 6 1/2" x 2 1/2"

I did 5 blocks across and 6 blocks down, 30 total blocks.
Simple 2 inch border, quilt and binding.

But, I do like quilt patterns and

Cutting for entire block

Cut 1 Lt. Green – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”
Cut 1 White – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”
Make Triangles

Cut 1 Green – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”
Cut 1 White – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”
Make Triangles

Cut 8 Assorted Colors – 1 7/8” x 1 7/8”
Cut 8 White – 1 7/8” x 1 7/8”
Make Triangles

Cut 2 Lt. Green – 1 ½” x 1 ½”
Cut 2 Green – 1 ½” x 1 ½”

Cut 4 White – 2 ½” x 3 ½”

Cut 4 White – 1 ½” x 1 ½”

 

Breaking the Pattern DOWN
Cutting for the entire block is above

this cutting is just for this unit
For the corner
Make 4 of this unit

Make your triangles – How to link

Cut 1 Lt. Green – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”
Cut 1 White – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”
Make Triangles

Cut 1 Green – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”
Cut 1 White – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”
Make Triangles

Cut 8 Assorted Colors – 1 7/8” x 1 7/8”
Cut 8 White – 1 7/8” x 1 7/8”
Make Triangles

Cut 4 White – 1 ½” x 1 ½”

Lay your pieces out and sew together each set as shown,
Sew those units into the block.


Cut 2 White – 2 ½” x 3 ½”


Do this 2 times

Cut 2 Lt. Green – 1 ½” x 1 ½”
Cut 2 Green – 1 ½” x 1 ½”

Cut 4 White – 2 ½” x 3 ½”

4-Patch Table Topper Pattern for YOU

Four-patch quilt block free pattern
Table Topper finished size 29" x 34"

Cut 80 - 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" squares
Piece together to form a 4-patch block

You will have 40 - 2-patch blocks

Open up the 2-patch blocks, press the seam to the 
dark fabric side
and add another 2-patch

make sure before sewing




You will have 20 - 4-Patch blocks

After the 20 - 4-patch blocks are finished, 
lay them out as you would like them

But, I didn't like it.  I wanted something for our dining room to use all year long.

So, I pulled out fabric until I found what I liked,

This is the one ! (for me) do what YOU like 

Cut 49 - 4 1/2" x 1 1/2" sashing

Cut 30 1 1/2" x 1 1/2"  corner blocks

Stack your rows up and move to sewing table, I don't have a felt wall, so I use my dining
room table to lay things out.

Sew a 4 1/2" x 1 1/2" strip to each end and in between 
each in the row


Sew 6 rows as shown above, 4- 4 1/2" x 1 1/2" strips and 5- 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" squares.

Cut 2 Sashing color - 26 1/2" x 4 1/2"
Sew to the left and right sides

Make the corners
Cut 4 Dark Color - 4 1/2" x 2 1/2" 
Cut 4 Dark Color - 2 1/2" x 2 1/2"
 Cut 4 Red - 2 1/2" x 2 1/2"
sew together 1 dark and 1 red,
sew dark 4 1/2" x 2 1/2" on

Cut 2 Sashing Color - 21 1/2" x 4 1/2" 
Sew to the top and bottom of the table topper
Four-patch quilt block free pattern
Finished size is
34" x 29"

Cut 1 Center Pattern Color - 1 1/2" x 1 1/2"
Cut 4 Background Squares 1 1/2" x 1 1/2"

Cut 2 Background Points 1 7/8" x 1 7/8"
Cut 2 Points Pattern Color - 1 7/8" x 1 7/8"
Make Triangles

Piece together the triangles - lay out design

Sew together to form rows, remember use 1/4" inch seam allowance

Cut 2 Background 3 1/2" x 2" Sew to the top and bottom of the block.

Press well, trim to fit your picture frame 
you can add batting to the back and quilt now, or just frame.
