Painting a headboard, Black to Gray

I'm painting our headboard, it has to be the heaviest thing we have ever purchased. It's a very soft gray, in the pictures it looks white.

Stain Glass Windows in Picture Frames

My windows were posted on Pinterest by someone, thank you,  my boards on Pinterest HERE

Sale at The Quilt Ladies Quilt Pattern Store HERE

Thank you all for asking about the stain glass.  These are on the windows in our family room/guest room at our last home we moved from just over two years ago. I had to leave them all. Tried but they wouldn't let me take them. They probably took them down and throw them away ! !  Any way, I did three of them.

Window One

I've taken stain glass classes and I love the idea of it, but the doing the whole hot thing, is not for me. I designed the patterns, cut the glass, and on purchased frames I laid out the pieces on the glass of the frame,  glued them all down (glass glue) and grouted them with gray grout.

Window Three

Each frame measures 32' x 32' and they are very heavy.
They are hung with screws through the frame, so they can't fall.

The natural light comes through them all day and all are on the same light switch for night, making them glow.

Sewing A Bed Ruffle - How to Make a Bed Skirt

I'm going to be 100% honest....
"If I knew what I know now, I would have written the check and purchased a ruffle."
And my ruffle didn't ruffle

Not hard, but planning it out, cost of fabric and TIME
Here's a bit of what I did. Link to wall quilt HERE

From Pinterest, me if you want to follow HERE
I found lot's of ideas.
Measure, re-measure EVERYTHING and plan it OUT !

Used the old one's, thin lining.
I left the green on until I was all done.

Added a border to each side and the bottom

After I had the two sides for each corner sewn on I didn't like seeing the mattress. I made corner insert.

Adding Kitchen Back Splash

If you have never tiled, do it ! !
It's one of the most rewarding DIY projects.
Husband and I do not work fast, but we are very steady.

We know when to have things hired out, we had all the counter tops sanded and buffed. They are Corian and look brand new.

We always pick 2-3 tiles purchase one 12" x 12" of each and bring them home. We had to do this twice, my kitchen is small and what I thought I liked, I didn't like when home in the kitchen.

Nothing better than a perfect corner.

We use pre- mixed grout and do it JUST like it says on the package,
Sealing it tomorrow !

Husband is the number one person to find things on the internet and here's the latest, a Murphy Bed for my sewing room.

It is so HEAVY and I don't know how we did it, but we did !

 Never say NEVER !

The last VERY HEAVY Lift !
Lifted it on to a chair on one side and then lifted the other side in. We were moving from side to side quick.

DONE AND LOVE IT

How to Painted Wooden Cabinets, My Tricks

Here is my post about my NEW Laundry room Closet. And here are my painting tips

white nylon paint brushes

Trick ONEI go to Michael's and get the better brush, NOT the cheap ones from Lowes.
White NYLON Brushes, about $4.00 for package.
They wash great and no hairs come out like the other ones !

brown paper sack as sand paper

Trick TWO is a BROWN paper sack, paper is the finest sand paper you can get. BUT, it must be a BROWN sack.

The only one I had in the house was from a little quilt shop in McKinney, TX, Stitched with Love, their site.  Cut the sack open and I like to fold it in and use just as sand paper, it makes the paint and wood soft !

This is the "AFTER" I love it.
