I've painted, cleaned and it's DONE

(Updated POST, added the paint color and how I used this color in my kitchen) This is post  has a life of its own. It's my number ONE pin on Pinterest and if you'd like to follow my Pinterest boards I'm HERE  My New site www.bethanndoing.com

Our little condo has a closet for the Laundry Room and I just didn't like it, plus I couldn't reach the shelf without being on my tip toes !

I moved everything out of our little kitchen dining area,
we don't use it. Than went to Lowe's Want to see a grown man shiver in his work boots ?
Walk into Lowe's with a yellow legal pad, tape measure and pictures from pinterest ! ! ! Yes, it was a metal tape measure not cloth, I've learned, they will laugh out loud at you, I know I did it....once.

before and after of a laundry room closet

My drying time was less with the cabinets in the air conditioning, in the garage and in Florida, it would have taken quite a bit longer for them to dry.

Trick ONEI get the better brushes HERE, NOT the cheap ones from Lowe's.
They wash great and no hairs come out like the other ones !
brown paper sack as sand paper
Trick TWO is a BROWN paper sack, paper is the finest sand paper. BUT, it must be a BROWN sack. The only one I had in the house was from a little quilt shop in McKinney, TX, Stitched with Love, their site.  Cut the sack open and I like to fold it in and use just as sand paper, it makes the paint and wood soft !

How often do you move your washer and dryer?
I'm going to have to do it more often...it's been 5 years for me. And, from the looks of it, too LONG !

Load the paint and remove most on a paper towel

Use an up and down motion to add the paint, less is more, as more can always be added.

It is a very simple stencil which I moved around and made mine.

From the Curb Find, to my Dining Room

Driving home a few weeks ago and being garbage day, look what I found on the curb! I've been looking for a table for under our breakfast bar to use as a serving table. I knew the moment I saw it, it would work.

repairing table from a curb find for my dining room

There was/is a huge mark, I think something hot was set on it and a paint spots.

With a bit of finger nail polish remover,
the paint came off.

But, I didn't want to refinished it completely, it had a fold out top table.

So, I decided to pop off the hinges and just turn the table top over
the inside was perfect, not a mark !

Then LOTS of cleaning and re-nailing the metal feet on.

IT'S a WOW

A real WOW

From Curb to My Dining Room

I've had the metal work up for MONTH's and DIDN'T have to move any of it.
PERFECT FIND !

Paint, Stencil and No Wallpaper

I've been working on our Master Bathroom, I've always wanted wallpaper, but after pricing it and figuring out the cost of having it hung, I had to come up with a new idea. So, off to Pinterest - (here's my boards link)

I found a wonderful stencil (their site) ordered it and it arrived in just a few days.  The room had been white, on white, so a bit of color to warm it up.

The after ! !

The white on white before

A soft steel gray,

white paisley stencil

I didn't measure out the placement of each stencil, just by eye, placed and painted, I purchase the medium and small stencil, used acrylic white paint.

large paisley stencil

I didn't over think the painting with these, they are not perfect, and that's just the way I wanted them. I wanted it to be like floating lace on the wall.

paisley stencil white wall

You can see from the first photo, adding pictures and things the stencil become very neutral

And After !
I painted the gray in one day and the next day did the stencils, as the acrylic painted dried the stencil edges just seemed to match into the base gray color.

It's a keeper and the money I saved is crazy !
