Barn Quilt for Our Fence, How we did it

It didn't take long and Husband had me a square of plywood. See other's

We used 1/4" plywood, sanded just a bit, (I like seeing the texture of the wood) they measure 26" x 26", real barn ones are huge.
We taped off the size we liked on the fence before deciding, you will be surprised
how big it will need to be.

I'm using acrylic paints, a black paint marker to outline
and I did 3-4 coats of poly, on top, back and sides

Well, Husband has decided we need another quilt square,
1 was good, 2 looks off balanced.
The whole, do things in odd numbers.

Looking down the fence.

When he gets the wood I'll get started, neighbors want three
going the rest of the way in their yard??? I'm still thinking about that!

I can't take a picture from straight on, we have a tree in the way !

It's Spring in Nebraska and I'm loving it !

Barn Quilt Made to Go on our Fence

I've finished my Fence (Barn) Quilt

This was so much fun. I measured and laid the pattern out
and then painted over a couple of days. Used a paint
pen for the lines and 4 coats of poly. to seal it.

I, of course didn't want to do a normal quilt block.

So, I did an Applique with the square set on point.

I used my patterns from Baskets of Applique Flowers as a reference.
Only available in PDF to your Printer,  you'll need the patterns.

Added quilt lines that you will never see from just a few steps back, but I know they are there, they make me happy !

Husband asked recently traveling, 'Why don't we have one?"
"We don't have a barn."   "We have a wooden fence."
