Paisley Quilt

I love paisley fabric and this is my vacation quilt.
I used a very different palette of colors and patterns, it's just fun.
Before the move this is the quilt that I put away here at the condo. Some times, it's nice to cuddle in a quilt no matter what the temperature is outside.
It's a very simple pattern, a 2 inch center square and then just log cabin around the outside with 1 inch strips.

The finished size is a square 50" x 50" a good size for curling up on the couch. I used a 100% cotton batting and hand quilted.

Painting our Lanai Wall

I've been having a ball with my new painting project.

With my plan, it didn't take long to mark it out the flowers on the wall. I did the painting over the stucco as it was.  Knowing what I know how, I would have the guy come and smooth it all out. Next time.

I tried to do the lines soft, but they had to be heavy to see.
(Disclaimer: Husband wants me to tell you all,
this is a huge project and
there is a bit of art to doing this, it may not be for all to try)

It's paint, try it !

First flower outlined, my first time off the ladder, I could not stop smiling, a bit of happy dancing too.

Husband's not been very excited about this project.  Like the flower pots at the front door I say, "tell them (assoc) to talk to me," no one has, I think they are scared of me...And, I like that.

Yes, I used a one inch paint brush

I was worried the paint (quart) would not be enough,

more than enough paint.
About 2 days of drying.

Then building the shadows on each flower.

I'll keep painting !
Check back !

Stain Glass Windows in Picture Frames

My windows were posted on Pinterest by someone, thank you,  my boards on Pinterest HERE

Sale at The Quilt Ladies Quilt Pattern Store HERE

Thank you all for asking about the stain glass.  These are on the windows in our family room/guest room at our last home we moved from just over two years ago. I had to leave them all. Tried but they wouldn't let me take them. They probably took them down and throw them away ! !  Any way, I did three of them.

Window One

I've taken stain glass classes and I love the idea of it, but the doing the whole hot thing, is not for me. I designed the patterns, cut the glass, and on purchased frames I laid out the pieces on the glass of the frame,  glued them all down (glass glue) and grouted them with gray grout.

Window Three

Each frame measures 32' x 32' and they are very heavy.
They are hung with screws through the frame, so they can't fall.

The natural light comes through them all day and all are on the same light switch for night, making them glow.

One of my favorite blocks, the glass is wonderful.

OK, I know what you are thinking, I'm NUTS....but I really like this door !

Old wooden door made into a head board

Husband and I headed to a flea market. And, look what we found. I liked the full walnut one that said, "Boys Locker Room" on it, but he picked this one, not worth a discussion, SOLD.

All the glass is perfect, I cleaned and cleaned.
paint or not to paint, I didn't.

He had to move the hinges to the other side
They look great, old and a bit of rust. Love them.

Day out Shopping for Things I Just Like !

Been doing a bit of shopping ! Again

This picture is from the Women's Exchange in Sarasota, FL

The true title is "The Writing Chair" I googled it and this tag can be found on many framed pieces of this print.

I only gave 20 dollars for it and I am still very pleased with my purchase. Some on the internet, not so pleased.
