One Quilt Block 12 Ways Pattern

Ever think that you make everything to complicated ?  BUT this quilt is NOT complicated...it just looks that way

Here is the quilt pattern

I'm doing a pattern for an eight year old's quilt.
 Our Grand #1. - HERE
I, of course sometime in the process, had the thought, his has to be in a book too,

Brother's Grand #2's quilt is in
"Get to the Center of It"  HERE

So, his has to be in one too  !  He has no idea, but you know me as Grandma?? Make everything fair.

So, I  took the basic star and had  fun !

I had emails about the argyle fabric (corners), remember it's just fabric,
"don't over think it !"

All layered, ready to put together !

A box of strips for a Log Cabin Quilt

I'm doing my log cabins just a bit different this time.
Last time, see them all HERE - patterns for you !

I thought out all the colors and where they should go.

Well....not this time, I'm cutting strips 1 1/2" wide and just letting it all happen.

And, in the process I'm loving it. I'm not worrying about plaids matching, just cutting straight strips and letting them be !

It's been very freeing to not plan out every color and placement.
Try it ! You may like it !
If you missed my first block here's a peek !

Washing an Old Quilt

I purchased another quilt,
this one is a little sad, but I think I can get it looking good again ! I was told it was from the 40's, but I'm thinking it's not that old???

I have one rule when I purchase quilts,
can it be machine washed??
Pictured is my Mother's day quilt, both quilts, very dirty ! Washed both twice, cold water, Downy, line dried !

I can't afford museum quilts, I purchase quilt that we will use and love and I HAVE to know they are clean !

I didn't purchase a quilt.......

I was told the more pieces in the quilt,  the older the quilter

This was done my a very young quilter,
she laughed when she said,
"And young doesn't have to be of age, in quilting."

I was in a Quilter's dream !

Use an up and down motion to add the paint, less is more, as more can always be added.
